The first run

In March 2026, BC + AI and Tiny Ghost Studios ran the first Animation Accelerator: a two-session intensive teaching the AI-powered production pipeline Tiny Ghost uses on paying client work and on their greenlit original IP Blood and Glitter.

Led by Luke Minaker and Mayumi Rollings, the cohort worked through storytelling, animatic, animation, editing, and studio-style review across two 3 hour Monday evening sessions with 10 to 16 hours of independent production in between.

Dates: Monday March 2 and Monday March 9, 2026 (6 to 9 PM PT)

Delivery: Online via Zoom

Class size: Capped at 20

Deliverable: One complete 30 to 40 second animated short per participant

What the cohort studied

Session 1: Pipeline foundations and project kickoff

• The 80/20 flip: moving animation from 80% grind and 20% creative to the inverse
• Reading and responding to a client brief
• Storytelling fundamentals and story beats for short-form animated work
• Building animatics as the structural spine of a piece
• Character sheets and visual continuity across scenes
• Toolchain orientation across the Tiny Ghost pipeline

Between sessions (10 to 16 hours of independent work)

• Script, beats, and animatic locked
• Character and scene generation
• First pass animation in the assigned pipeline
• Iteration against feedback in the private cohort chat
