December is for taking stock without pretending the story is tidy.
This year, Comox Valley AI went from "is anyone here for this?" to a real room with local hosts, local speakers, sponsors, practical examples, hard questions, and enough follow-up energy to keep the conversation alive between meetups.
That is not nothing.
AI did not get simpler. The tools got faster. The questions got sharper. The sales pitches got louder. The stakes around education, work, privacy, creativity, public service, consent, and trust kept climbing.
But the Valley kept doing the thing that matters most: showing up together.
December is our field report. What did we learn? What surprised us? Which tools actually helped? Which worries got more specific? Who needs to be in the room next year? What should Comox Valley AI become if we want this community to be useful in 2027, not just interesting in 2026?
Both hands full. That was always the deal.
